There is no negotiation with US: Iran FM

  • There is no negotiation with US: Iran FM

Regarding some claims about negotiations with the US, Zarif said, “The whole world has reached the conclusion that Washington may violate its agreement at any time and the current US administration should change its behavior and stop looking for excuses”.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Zarif pointed to the issue of compensating the UK for hurting valuable objects in their embassy in Tehran in an attack in 2011.

“International law has regulations in this regard and Iran has announced that guarding foreign embassies is among its responsibility and all the officials of Iran’s state agreed on that,” he said.

“The two sides should negotiate about its details but no measures have been taken by either side,” Zarif added.

Iran hosting Afghans with best facilities: Mousavi

  • Iran hosting Afghans with best facilities: Mousavi

He made the remarks in response to questions and media hypes over drowning of a number of Afghan nationals in the Harirud River near Iran’s northeastern borders.

“From the first hours some reports were published in various media about the issue, the relevant institutions put a quick and accurate investigation of the incident on the agenda. Since the issue was related to the lives of human beings, especially the citizens of the brotherly and neighboring country, Afghanistan, the issue was dealt with double sensitivity and an attempt was also made to take all the aspects of the incident into account at the earliest,” he said.

Accordingly, all relevant institutions were mobilized to obtain a comprehensive assessment and clarify the facts. Iran’s border guards reported that there has been no such incident at that time, nor have there been any clashes between the Iranian forces and Afghan nationals. Additional investigations by other agencies also confirm the border guard"s report and completely reject the occurrence of the incident as well as alleged involvement,” Mousavi added.

"I would like to emphasize once again that the Iran and Afghanistan have long borders, which, despite many ups and downs, have long been a good example of cooperation and friendly relations," the spokesman stated.

“Providing jobs, free education, free health facilities and many other facilities that are widely available to Afghan guests are indicative of Iran"s good hospitality,” Mousavi stressed.

  • Trump’s administration incompetence imposes burden on nurses: Iran

“Today is International Nurses Day. Amid COVID-19, we are all indebted to sacrifice of hero nurses in Iran and across the world risking their lives to save ours. The risk is particularly noticed in the U.S. where Trump government incompetence has imposed intolerable burden on frontline nurses, with insufficent equipment,” he wrote on his official Twitter account.
